Short description of the ‘Good Practice’:
NATURCODE is an example of how to empower the digitalisation of Farmers and Producers supply value chains tthough the product labelling (QR). It is considered as the first Spanish platform with a European vocation for the digital identification of agri-food products that directly connects small producers and distributors, as well as consumers, through information based on 6S Food (Safe, Salobrius, Sustainable, Satisfactory, Social and Supportive). It counts with more than 1.100 Farmers and more than 3,000 products in their catalogue.

The process is quite simple, Farmers can sign up in the platform and upload all their products, and NATURCODE platform is generating a simple and attractive Smart Label using QR technology that you can put on your physical label of your products. Then, Consumers can scan the QR code when they are shoppping and they are accessing to the description and characteristics of the products in a live mode. In addition, one key aspect is that Consumer can rate your products so you can have their opinnion directly in the platform to continuosly improve the production of them. and other Consumers can see the rates facilitating the purchasing decision.

Main results/outcomes of the activity (expected or final): Through transaprency and informed product charasteristics and description provided with the Smart Label (QR), the SFSC are gainning a better reputation and consolidating as a primarly choice for customers. Farmers and Consumers are mutually beneficiating because the information is transparent, reliable and ethical. It is generating a framework of trust between Farmers and Producers. On one hand, Farmers and Producers are receiving feedback from consumers, and on the other hand, Consumers can get access to the feedback of other consumers, and they are also contributing with their opinions to improve the quality of the products.

What needs did the ‘good practice’ respond to? This example highlights the importance of providing accurate and informed opinions to consumers of products from SFSCs. It address the consumers’ needs to access high quality, trusted, local produce, and for Producers are gainning relevant feedback, and customer patters and behaviours of the use of SFSC options. Customer reviews via NATURCODE platform can help to highlight communications about quality, and provide reassurance to consumers about the products they produce.
